Dear Reader,

I… do not know what I just read. It was a beautifully woven piece of patience and hope, but it was also intense. And terrifying? You read it and get introduced to this adorable family, but then they’re separated, and suddenly you don’t know if they’ll ever be together again, and then they get to the keep, and it’s a magical place, but then freaky shit pops up on the grounds and you’re just like- “What?”

James can tell a good tale. It kept me on my toes with the mystery and had me rooting for an ending I didn’t even see coming. The cliffhanger was a bit of a maddening thing but it makes me want to read the second book.

A mix of old Victorian beauty with the old ways of slavery, this book was a near emotional-roller coaster that had me going around in circles with its characters. Definitely a book to try out next year.

Happy Reading,

A Little Darling
