Never trust a demon.
Never trust your heart.
And never trust the woman who holds it.
In Body of the Crime, a beast craved a beauty and oh, how she ravaged him.
But, oh, how he poisoned her with his venom.
And, oh… how he destroyed her.
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Title: Body of the Crime
Series: Blackest Gold #2
Author: R. Scarlett
I read the first book and wasn’t going to name it a favorite anytime soon, but after reading this? I’m totally invested in the series. Scarlett’s writing style is fun and personable with the characters. I really enjoyed being in the different POVs of Molly and Tensely, and it’s always well appreciated when you can look at a random page and immediately know who’s talking.
The first book wasn’t my personal favorite because Molly was really hard to like. She was strong-minded, which I totally appreciated, but… well, I go on about it in its own review lol. This book was perfect because she’s moved past her judgments and is all now all for Tensely. Now we get the epic duo that was hanging so close to me in the first installment, and it. Was. Ah-maz-inggg. Their chemistry always got me going and the whole drama and complications only made things more exciting for me. It was action-packed and emotional, an overall good mix of fantasy and relationship problems.
